I am very excited and cannot wait to work with Vera Lightstone next weekend, March 3rd and 4th in Midtown Manhattan, NYC. This will be the second class that I assist her with and am looking forward to working with the new students. Last month, Vera and I worked with eight lovely students. It's amazing the relationships that can blossom after spending two long days with each other. It's a lot of work and a lot of fun mixed in with a lot of NYC!
Just found out I'll be showing in Hilton Head Island during Memorial Day weekend! I'm so excited. This will be my third year down there, my first year sharing my recycled fine silver pieces!
I'm currently freezing in my studio while I'm firing copper pieces for 2 hours...with the windows open. Brrrr!
Coral Joy is sick of being sick. There's nothing quite like a sinus/cold to bring your work to a halt. I'm hoping that come tomorrow morning I'll be a new woman and ready to get back to making jewelry.
I just start this website and then I go off an start another one...what was I thinking? Anyway, I've taken the time to let you know I haven't forgotten about you, just keeping extra busy so I can share more of my jewelry with you. Isn't that nice of me?
If you haven't had the time to look at my etsy shop, please do when you can as there are some new pieces that aren't currently on this website. Feel free to "like" certain pieces of mine on my shop too...everything helps!
It's a beautiful day in New York with temps nearing 50! Crazy winter living this year.
Beautiful pieces were made today in Coral Joy Studio. Two firings..tumbling, polishing, patinaing...it was fun filled. Plus the best part of my day was going into my oldest sons classroom to help out with a peace and friendship party. I helped the kids make friendship bracelets!
Continue checking out http://www.etsy.com/shop/coraljoy and this website as I will be updating with the newest inventory. I just found out yesterday that I am invited to a show in Rosyln Harbor, NY this fall. I will start a "Shows" category on my homepage to let you all know where you can find me.
Well, I've fired twice today. My vessels after fire #1 exploded, which is quite ironic since my boys told me they looked like grenades. They will love to hear that!
So with fire #2 I fixed said explosions. It's so wonderful working with Recycled Fine Silver as a medium, as it allows the artist to work with things...multiple times!
Off to grab my boys from school and celebrate a fun day.
It's a busy day on Valentine's Day at Coral Joy Jewelry this morning! I'm firing four new pendants, which I'm very excited to see finished. Three of the pendants are vessels, almost like vases, and the last is a textured paper that I pasted with layers of Recycled Fine Silver...cannot wait to see finished products!
Happy Valentine's Day to everyone! A day filled with love is a mighty fantastic day. Now I'm off to make two new rings, while my pieces are firing in my kiln.
Tomorrow is Valentine's Day! We are certainly excited about that at Coral Joy Jewelry! It's always a great time of year to surprise that special someone in your life with a beautiful piece of handcrafted jewelry.
Browse through the catalog and notice the new pieces. They are honestly moving out quickly, so I'm working double time. I love it!
Happy pre Valentine's Day my loyal Coral Joy customers!
I officially opened my Etsy storefront today. I joined Etsy in 2008, but never added photos...so today I took the plunge after much encouragement and requests from my customers. Thanks for the extra push:)
I am balancing two storefronts: http://www.coraljoy.com and http://www.etsy.com/shop/coraljoy. It's been a fantastic learning journey for me. I'm happy to share both of these sites with you and encourage you to check back often as both sites will be updated frequently.
